Flowers & Flourish samples

This set is called Flowers & Flourish. Here are 3 cards I made recently using it:

This one is a Triangle Trifold card. I like to do cards with unique folds for something unexpected. This fold is not difficult to do at all. There is a great tutorial by Beate on SCS with instructions and measurements, you can find it here. Below is a picture of the open view, so you can get an idea of how it's folded, and also see how the inside is decorated.

For this card, you start with a piece of cardstock cut to 4.25 in x 11 in. Then you score at 4 inches and 9.5 inches, and fold as shown above. The inside of this card is matted with So Saffron cardstock, and the same flower and stem are stamped in the corner in So Saffron ink.

The final card is the basic A2 sized card. The row of flourishes on the left hand side of the card were stamped with Vanilla craft ink. The scallops on the right side were created using the slit punch from Stampin' Up. Scallops are everywhere right now, so it is great to know that this little punch can do double duty. Slide a strip of cardstock all the way into the punch, press down and release the lever, then slide the cardstock over to punch again. Make sure to line up the edges of each slit as you punch, to create the clean scallop all the way down the paper. If you're anything like me, you may need to practice a couple times, but in no time it will be a piece of cake!

Mmmmm...... speaking of cake, my oven timer just went off. I got the best recipe from a lady at church called Heath Crunch Cake. It is extremely easy, but it tastes fantastic! I'm going to go finish putting it together before my DH and kids revolt! I'll come back and share the recipe later, I PROMISE ~ LOL!
